Featured Businesses of the Quarter: April-June

The City of Santa Maria and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce are partnering to highlight different businesses in the City through a Business of the Quarter Program. This program will, on four occasions this calendar year, recognize two local small businesses chosen by the Chamber. The criteria are: fewer than 20 employees; in operation for at least five years; physically located within the City Limits; and being a local Chamber of Commerce member in good standing. Not only does this give them valuable exposure, it also reminds the community of the unique, diverse, and long-standing businesses we are fortunate to have in Santa Maria.

The businesses for the second quarter (April-June 2024) are:

Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service is located at 320 Oak Street in Santa Maria. Daniel Keuma started the company in 1991 upon his relocation here from Hawaii. His son, Kaniela, had ambitions for growth. The company has grown from a one-truck operation to seven trucks and eight employees. It provides services to residential and commercial customers. They are involved in supporting community events and charities.

Kaniela Keuma, owner, and Jessica Keuma, wife, and office manager, of Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Services accept a Business of the Quarter recognition from Councilmember Maribel Aguilera-Hernandez.

Trojan Petroleum is located at 1665 West Betteravia Road in Santa Maria. Founded 43 years ago by Bud and Ebba Richards, it has grown into a full-service petroleum distributor specializing in delivering fuel to farm locations and job sites throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, as well as being an independently owned Pacific Pride cardlock site. It has 15 delivery trucks. The company is a member of many local civic groups.

Larry Schubert, secretary, and
Kathleen Brodie, president, of Trojan Petroleum, Inc, accept a Business of the Quarter recognition from Councilmember Maribel Aguilera-Hernandez.

Businesses are chosen by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber. To nominate a business or ask about the program, contact Molly Schiff, Director of Advocacy and Initiatives  at the Chamber via email at molly@santamaria.com or by phone at (805) 925-2403 extension 816.
